Hope Springs Africa was born out of a burden—one that stirred in the heart of our founder, Rhonda G. Mincey, M.Ed., a mentor, missionary, and social entrepreneur. After meeting a young Rwandan girl and witnessing the lack of access to basic needs like clean water, school supplies, and menstrual health support, she and her husband Doug knew they couldn’t just visit—they had to do more.
Their first steps were small but significant: purchasing school uniforms, mattresses, and health insurance for a few families. But those acts of compassion sparked something greater—a vision to restore dignity, raise leaders, and build sustainable systems of hope. Soon after, they were commissioned as missionaries, choosing God’s mandate over their own comfort. Together, they’ve walked alongside local leaders, meeting immediate needs and mobilizing long-term solutions,
From walking six miles to host entrepreneurship workshops…
To praying with village elders and children…
To launching life-changing initiatives led by locals…
Hope Springs Africa has become more than a nonprofit. It’s a bridge between visionaries in Kigali and villagers in Ruhango. One that crosses oceans and and connects hearts, honoring both dignity and destiny.
A model of transformation that flows from faith, sustainability, and love.

This story isn’t over. It’s still being written—in Rwanda and in the hearts of those who rise with us.
Meet the team.
A Message from Doug and Rhonda
"Hope Springs Africa is not just our mission; it's a testament to the power of faith and compassion. The joy and fulfillment we receive from serving as conduits of God's grace far surpass any contribution we make. Our journey began with a single 'yes' on an ordinary day, and today, it has evolved into a movement of love and transformation. We invite you to join us in this mission—whether through prayer, donations, or hands-on involvement—to continue bringing hope to those who need it most. Together, we can create a ripple effect of change across Rwanda and Africa.

You reminded me that we need to love without boundaries...thank you for coming to Rwanda. I am sure it was God's mission for you to meet us.

the story that sparked it all
Some stories change the course of a mission. This one birthed it.
Her name is Sifa—a young girl from Rwanda whose quiet strength captured our hearts. When we first met her, she and her siblings were out of school, sleeping on bare floors, and living without the basic support most take for granted.

But our meeting was more than chance. It was a divine appointment.
We had prayed. We had searched. And when we found her, something shifted. We weren’t just giving aid—we were stepping into assignment.

Helping Sifa and her family marked the beginning of what would become Hope Springs Africa. That moment sparked a mission now reaching entire villages with clean water, dignity, education, and sustainable hope.

“She was the chosen one—sent to show us what was possible when compassion meets calling.”
